Liturgy & Sacraments
The Celebration of the memorial of Christ's Sacrifice
Mass is made up of the LITURGY OF THE WORD (Bible readings and Homily or Sermon) and the LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST (Consecration and Communion). There are also introductory rites to prepare us for both the table of God's word, and the table of Christ's body and blood. There is also a concluding rite which consists of the final blessing and dismissal. We encourage attendees to listen carefully and try to apply God's word to their daily life and to nourish themselves by receiving the Holy Eucharist as frequently as possible, after requesting absolution from the Pastor for our sins, approaching Confession before. St. Joseph Sunday MIssal The Sacraments
The whole liturgical life of the Church revolves around the Eucharistic Sacrifice and the Sacraments. There are seven sacraments in the Church: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist (Communion), Penance (Confession), Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony.
Sacraments are "powers that come forth" from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving. They are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in his Body, the Church, meaning US. Sacraments are "the masterworks of God" in the new and everlasting Covenant.
